Plastic Injection Molding

Injection molding for commodity and engineering plastics. We source facilities with press tonnages from 30T to 1200T, including 2K overmolding, insert molding, and cleanroom production for medical and electronics applications. We coordinate tooling, color matching, secondary decoration, and packaging.

When it fits

  • Volume production where tooling amortizes (typically 1,000+ units/year)
  • Complex geometries impossible to machine economically
  • Parts with engineered features (living hinges, snap fits, threaded inserts)
  • Cosmetic parts where injection finish quality matters

When it does not

  • Very low volumes (under about 500 units total). Machining or 3D printing may be cheaper.
  • Metal-equivalent strength requirements. Look at machined plastics or composites.
  • Parts with feature geometry the tool can't release (undercuts require lifters/slides, raising tool cost)

Common materials

ABS · PC · PC/ABS blend · PA6 30% GF · POM · PEEK

Typical lead time

Tooling: 6 to 10 weeks. Production: 2 to 6 weeks after T1 approval.
