CNC Machining
CNC handles most of what we make. 3-axis, 5-axis, mill-turn, Swiss. Metals and engineering plastics: prototype in days, serial production over months. We match the shop to the part: envelope, material, tolerance, inspection. Material certs and FAIR reports where you need them.
Capabilities
Process specifications
- Machine types
- 3-axis mill, 5-axis mill, 2-axis lathe, mill-turn, Swiss-type
- Max envelope (typical)
- 3-axis: 1500 x 800 x 600 mm. 5-axis: 800 x 600 x 500 mm. Custom envelopes on request.
- Metals
- Aluminum, steel, stainless, tool steel, titanium, brass, copper, Inconel
- Plastics
- POM (Delrin), PEEK, PA6/66, PTFE, PC, PMMA, PVC
- Tolerances
- ±0.05 mm typical, ±0.005 mm achievable on precision work
- Surface finish
- Ra 0.4 to 3.2 µm typical, mirror finish on request
- Finishes
- Anodize, black oxide, passivation, nickel plate, zinc, powder coat, bead blast
- Inspection
- CMM, optical, FAIR reports, material certs, PPAP on request
When it fits
- Prototype through serial production
- Complex geometry requiring multi-axis milling
- Tight tolerances or critical surface finishes
- Low volumes where tooling investment would be wasted
- Material flexibility. Switching alloys or grades between runs.
When it does not
- Very high volumes where net-shape processes (casting, forging) are cheaper
- Parts with features no mill can reach without expensive custom fixturing
Common materials
Aluminum 6061-T6 · Stainless 316L · Ti-6Al-4V · POM (Delrin) · Tool steel D2
Typical lead time
Prototype: 1 to 3 weeks. Serial production: 4 to 8 weeks.
